Secret
The Divine Truth (GM Only)
Cosmic Role: The Unwitting Jailor
Role in the Betrayal: Bask was tricked into believing that Naeros is a "Rabid Beast" that would kill every mortal if it was to escape. Bask is not evil, or power hungry, he is protective and volunteered to guard the main entrance to the Caldera because he genuinely believes he is saving the "Pups" from a monster.
True Motivation: Bask is not evil or power-hungry; he is Protective. He volunteered to guard the main entrance to the Caldera because he genuinely believes he is saving the "Pups" (Mortals) from a monster.
The Tragedy:
-
He is the only God who is fooled, not complicit.
-
If the players try to enter the Caldera to free Naeros, Bask will manifest to stop them. He will not fight with malice; he will fight with desperation, begging them to run away because "The Bad Thing will hurt you."
-
Redemption: He is the only deity who can be convinced to switch sides if the players can prove his masters are lying to him. ::
