Era I - Age of Silence

Era I: Age of Silence
(1 AB – 700 AB)

The hidden vigil and the return of the exiles.

The Hidden Enclaves: For centuries, the island stood silent. In the wider world, civilizations rose and fell, but the descendants of the refugees endured in secret. Hidden in remote coastal enclaves and deep-sea trenches far from Iskavell, they preserved the "Song of the Sleep," passing down the memory of their stolen god and their frozen home.

The Pale Scions: The memory was kept alive by the Pale Scions—ancient aquatic vampires and long-lived beings who had personally survived the flight from Iskavell. They did not age, and they did not forgive. For eight hundred years, they ruled the exiles, waiting for the omens that would signal the time to return.

The Great Return: Guided by blood-memory and the Scions' command, the diaspora finally returned to the frozen seas of Iskavell. They did not settle on the surface; they dove beneath the ice shelf, finding the ruins of their ancestors preserved in the dark. They rebuilt their society in the shadow of the prison, calling themselves the Drowned Court.

The Invisible Vigil: As the Court explored the ceiling of their new world (the underside of the ice), they discovered the Wardens were still there. Whenever a Drowned scout breached the surface, a Warden would materialize from the snow to slaughter them. The Court realized the jailors were eternal, and the "Silent War" began—a siege laid against the bottom of the ice.
