Backstory
Runa Calder was one of Stormbreak’s most reliable hunters, working the western ice shelves and tidal harvest routes. When storms worsened and supplies thinned, she was often the one who went out anyway.
Nine months ago, Runa failed to return from a routine harvesting run. No body was recovered. Her disappearance was assumed to be death by exposure or the sea, but the lack of remains left the matter unresolved.
Her loss was felt sharply. Routes went unworked. Others refused to take her runs. Stormbreak adapted, but the wound never fully closed.
Her body later became the host of the fungal entity now known as Growth, reopening grief, suspicion, and unresolved guilt within the settlement.
